One More Day for Observations

There's still one more day to participate in the #CityNatureChallenge. As of 9 p.m. on April 28, we have 82 participants with nearly 1,350 observations of plants and animals in our region 👏 We're still doing a great job in the state-wide competition, safely ahead of Frankfort and Lexington. Our naturalists in the SOKY community were so ready for the City Nature Challenge! Let's finish strong! Make as many observations as you can tomorrow, April 29.
📣Heads up - after this observation phase, we enter the identification phase, April 30-May 5. If you enjoy looking at photos of plants and animals, you can help identify them. Even without a scientific background, everyone can pitch in to identify things like robins and cardinals, or white tail deer and squirrels. Give it a try :)

A wet start to the City Nature Challenge

Hi everyone, it's a wet start to our first day of the City Nature Challenge, but after this rain moves out of the region, we're looking at a beautiful weekend for making nature observations! I hope you're ready to get outside and take photos. Be sure to share the City Nature Challenge with your friends and family - all they have to do is sign up for iNaturalist and add observations from April 26-29. All observations made within our participating counties will count towards our CNC totals!
Have fun today! You're all making an impact with every observation.
Katie
